Mowlem Update

Following the campaign the children started here, the school received a visit from:

School Travel adviser, John Rymell

Road Safety Project Manager, Richard Baxter, and

Met Police Traffic Management Officer, PC Simon Wickenden.

Pupils explained the problems they were having with the zebra crossing.

After explaining the problem of cars in front of the school gate,
PC Simon Wickenden explained that people leaving their cars outside the school at home time are commiting an offence.

Your school can develop their own School Travel Plan for a safer route to schools, contact John Rymell:
john.rymell@towerhamlets.gov.uk

A School Travel Plan is a document produced by a school that identifies a series of actions that will:
- minimise car travel to and from school by parents and staff
- encourage more walking – or cycling – to improve health and fitness amongst students, parents and staff
- improve Road Safety Education in school for students, parents and staff
- improve Travel Awareness in students, parents and staff
- identify road safety and streetscape measures that will make it safer and more attractive for students and their parents to walk – or cycle – to school.
